QNG | quartet new generation
QNG in Russia!
QNG is almost ready for departing to Russia! We will perform in Tscheljabinsk and Magnitogorsk, which is the area of the Ural mountains and we are very much looking forward to get to know the country and the audience. Next to the evening concerts we will perform also for kids in a German-Russian school and for composition students at the local Conservatories. Our concert program contains music by Bach, Händel and Scheidt next to contemporary works written by the young German composers Sebastian Elikowski-Winkler and Arne Sanders. Nevertheless we are happy to announce that we will premiere a piece by a Russian woman composer – „Memento mori“ by Olga Krashenko. The project is iniciated and organized by Klangnetz – an organisation of young composers in Berlin. The tour is supported by the German consulate in Jekaterinburg. Thanks, Klangnetz!
QNG cooperates with Klangnetz
Klangnetz is a collaboration of young composers in Berlin. Together with QNG they recently realized a project called „Zwei Ufer hat der Fluss“ – program with compositions of contemporary and early Polish and German composers. At Schleswig Holstein Musikfestival we premiered this program together with three new works written for QNG by Arne Sanders, Katazyna Zwed and Wojciech Ziemowit Zych. It was an exciting evening which we could share with a full house-audience and three composers. Read a review in a local newspaper here.

Get Impressions of our NYC and Panama Tour!
We are back from a successful tour in NYC and Panama and you all are very welcome to watch photos of our tour. You will find them in our Gallery!!
First of all we played at the Bang On A Can- Marathon, which was taking place in the overwhelming Winter Garden of the World Financial Center (see above). We performed among many great musicians making music between contemporary, cross-over, experimental, electronic, minimal, ethno…. and where we met people like Michael Gordon, Mark Stewart, David Lang and many more. It was also great to see so many well-known friends, composers, agents and other people who are so important for our group.
After performances in Usdan Music Camp and at the Harvard Club we headed towards Panama. It seems that there must be always an obstacles around: so, three of us got food-poisoned on the plane and arrived there in pretty bad conditions. After a hard night and day and the help of a lovely doctor-woman at the hotel, we were capable to perform in the evening in a beautiful hall. The presenter was doing great in taking care of us. The next day we visited a local bilingual school, where we were very honored to experience around 600 Panamanian kids playing recorder for us. Watch the video!!
Mollenhauer Denner C-Bass played by QNG
QNG especially enjoys to continue playing the new Greatbass Recorder made by Mollenhauer. After a first pilot period earlier this year Mollenhauer encouraged us to use and play it further on – THANKS!!!

QNG working with Moritz Eggert
QNG prepares its performance at the BangOnACan-Marathon in New York at the end of June. Among other compositions we will perform „Oh I Am Sorry, did I BREAK your concentration?“ by Michiel Mensingh together with pianist/composer Moritz Eggert. For this exciting event Moritz composed a piece called „Flohwalze“ and dedicated it to our ensemble. Also this time we will travel with Petra Wurz substituting Hannah. After our New York performances we will head towards Panama!!
