QNG at Omega Institute Upstate NY

QNG followed an invitation by the Women´s Leadership Center at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies to perform during the Women & Power Retreat, a 3 days conference with workshops, classes, speeches, yoga and music. We met impressive women full of joy, warmth, power, peace, inner strength and amazingly „in balance“ and will keep in mind a most beautiful remembering from the campus, the food, the people, the nature, the organization & the very special atmosphere of the place in Upstate New York.

Memorial Concert for Gerd Lünenbürger at „Crescendo Festival“

In the concert hall of the University of the Arts in Berlin a special and somewhat depressing atmosphere was present. Recorder performers from whole Europe were assembled to dedicate their performances to the recorder player and teacher on the UdK Berlin – Gerd Lünenbürger, who died last october. He left an empty space among his friends, students and admirers – most of them from a musical circuit. There were a lot of musical touching moments. Next to Trio Dreiklang (Berlin), Carsten Eckert (Bern), Juan Izquierdo (Barcelona), panta rhei (Berlin), Han Tol (Amsterdam) and Tomma Wessel (Brüssel) QNG performed „Arak“ by Petros Ovsepyan, a fugue by Dmitri Schostakowitsch and two five-part consort pieces by Christopher Tye together with Han Tol.

„Vive le Baroque – Rock la Vie“

Our new program „Vive le Baroque – Rock la Vie“ with works by Lully, Rameau, Zwed, Sanders, Boismortier, Purcell, Guimaraes and Händel was first performed during the the Handel Festival in Göttingen in June 2011.

QNG at Georgian radio station in Tiflis

QNG with two Georgian MCs in the studio

QNG is back from a wonderful tour though Kaukasus. The Goethe Institute and the German embassy invited us to give concerts in Yerevan, Tiflis and Baku. Next to workshops, radio and TV interviews we had the chance to experience countries we have never been to before – Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijani – and return home with lots if new impressions and friendships.
We would like to thank both institutions for making this possible!
