QNG at Barbés!

For those who might be interested in some more news of our tour here in the United States: right now we are located in a beautiful hotel in Rhinebeck, New York, just about to leave for a masterclass with about 90 students working on „Soundings VI“ written by David Keberle. We received already the review of our performance at Barbés last night, so here is the link:

QNG back in the States

QNG is back in the United States! We started our tour on Thursday, 6th of March performing at Princeton Institute of Advanced Studies including the world premiere of“Mortal Flesh” written by Paul Moravec. Furthermore we will visit six more States touring from the West to the East coast and we are looking forward meeting great audiences. Our performances are in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit and Rhinebeck. Another world premiere of a new work written for QNG will be Simon Fink´s “The Kick Galvanic – Straight to My Lover’s Heart” in Chicago. Read the article announcing Chicago‘ s concert here.

Concerttour in Germany

This february was dominated by 7 concerts all over Germany. Unforgettable is our evacuation by the local fire brigade in Bad Oldesloe, who entered the hall rather harsh during Mancuso’s „Non ti à piaciato“. Performers and audience had to leave the venue immediately due to heavy storms. Our concert in the radio station of NDR Hannover was remarkable by the premiere of Dorothe Hahne’s work „Dance macabre“ for four recorders and was recorded for broadcasting. We will keep you posted about the exact date.

Recording of promotion CD for Küng

QNG in the studio of the University of the Arts in Berlin, recording a promotion-CD for the Swiss recorder manufacturer KÜNG. You will find the MiniCD at Küng´s booth at the Frankfurt Music Fair.

QNG at Ultraschall/Berlin in January.

We especially enjoyed performing at the Ultraschall-Festival for contemporary music in Berlin. The work Arak written by PETROS OVSEPYAN for QNG was premiered, further we performed some more recently for QNG written works, such as GORDON BEEFERMANs Passages (2007), MICHIEL MENSINGHs 2007 – A Space Odyssey (2007), ALLA ZAGAYKEVYCHs Pagode-Vision (2006). We will keep you posted when the radio broadcasts the recorded concert.

QNG in Japan

QNG visited Japan the second time and performed concerts in Matsuyama, Kashima, Hamamatsu, Yaizu, Ise and Tokyo. Between the hard work, we also had time to visit the Fujiyama, bath in hot springs, see shrines and castles, eat sushi and smoked octopus and to make Christmas shopping. We thank our manager and all-day companion Toshitake Nakamura for his patience, fun and care during the tour and Yamaha, who did repair the broken keys of our Yamaha instruments in between the tour.
