QNG successfully performed its first concert in Spain! The Valencian Foundation Eutherpe invited us for a concert in a wonderful space in Valencia. After the concert we had great Tapas and Wine with the presenter and one of their sponsors at famous local bodega Casa Montaña. Thanks also to the Goethe institute which was supporting our trip. A great trip!
On Tuesday, December 15th, Performance Today will broadcast the encore from our concert at the 2009 Ojai Music Festival. It is the lovely tango by Geri Bollinger called Tangorganito. American Public Media’s Performance Today is broadcast on 245 public radio stations across the States and is heard by about 1.2 million people each week. Each station individually decides what time to air the program. To find out where and when Performance Today is broadcast please visit performancetoday.org. This Tuesday’s show will be available on the website for seven days.
Beautiful Händelhaus in Halle invited QNG to perform our completely renewed program „Fantasy in Symmetry“. We especially worked on fugues by G.F.Händel and transcribed them for recorder quartet. It worked out very well and is a proof of the amazing counterpoint knowledge of our oratorio and opera-„hero“ .
The day after we spent an inspiring day together with the vocal ensemble Calmus. We collected ideas and music for our common program, which will be a very promising project. We will keep you informed about future performances.
Recently QNG was invited by Polish Royal String Quartet for a concert at their festival Kwartesencja. It was an exciting evening with works by Caldini, Cipriano da Rore, J.S. Bach and two contemporary pieces by Polish composers, Sebastian Elikovski-Winkler and Woijtek Blecharz. The hall was full and the audience was enthousiastic. Polish radio recorder the concert. We will keep you informed when it will be broadcasted. Thanks for the great time, Royal String Quartet!

QNG enjoyed beeing part of the recorder days organised by recorder Manufaktur Küng in Schaffhausen/CH. We performed in the Halls of Modern Art together with Maurice Steger and Naoki Kitaya and played works by Locke, Hirose, Caldini, Bach, Beeferman and Moravec. Hannah Pape and Heide Schwarz additionally gave a masterclass. We had a great time and Küng´s Team took care of us in a wonderful way.
