Dear Friends Of QNG,<\/strong><\/p>\n

we hope you had wonderful christmas holidays! Just in time for new year’s eve fireworks we would like to share a short\u00a0review of 2012<\/strong> with you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Highlights:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every concert is something special of course, but there are some which will be remembered even more. Next to performances through Europe we would like to point out following events:\u00a0at the Berlin new music festival\u00a0ULTRASCHALL 2012<\/strong> we premiered\u00a0Marianthi Papalexandri-Alexandri’s<\/strong> \u201euntitled IV \u2013 atemlos\u201c. This is already the second piece written for our group by this greek composer.
\nFurthermore we premiered transcriptions of\u00a0Alexandra Filonenko’s<\/strong> \u201eSirenen\u201c and\u00a0Sofia Gubaidulina’s<\/strong> \u201eQuartet for four flutes\u201c.<\/p>\n

During our\u00a0U.S. tour<\/strong> we played the opening concert at this year’s\u00a0MATA Festival<\/strong> in New York together with the reknown\u00a0JACK Quartet<\/strong> and premiered\u00a0Qin Yi’s<\/strong> \u201eSound Shadow\u201c written for recorder quartet and\u00a0Yotam Haber’s <\/strong>\u201eEstro poetic-armonico\u201c written for QNG and JACK.<\/p>\n

We travelled on together with the five singers from\u00a0CALMUS Ensemble<\/strong> and our program \u201eBlaze of Glory\u201c including a premiere by the american composer and Pulitzer Prize Winner\u00a0Paul Moravec<\/strong> „Lord, make me an instrument of your peace“.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

QNG-Babies 2012:<\/strong><\/p>\n

End of June we ‚gave birth‘ to our\u00a0third CD \u201eFantasy ’n‘ Symmetry\u201c<\/strong> – recorded at\u00a0Bayerischer Rundfunk<\/strong> and published by\u00a0label GENUIN<\/strong>, Leipzig. We would like to thank both institutions for their wonderful support. Next to fugues written by J.S. Bach, G.F. H\u00e4ndel and D. Shostakowitch you will find new works written by W. Blecharz, M.E. Childs, Y. Pasowsky and E. Reiter. Next to radio broadcasts you can find reviews in magazines like \u201cDe Blockfluitist\u201d, \u201cEnsemble, \u201cTibia\u201d and \u201cWindkanal\u201d.<\/p>\n

And we are more than happy to announce that Andrea gave birth to her daughter\u00a0Jasmine<\/strong> in August!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Thanks again to the recorder makers from\u00a0K\u00dcNG<\/strong> and\u00a0Mollenhauer<\/strong>, who are supporting us with their beautiful instruments. In September they presented their recorders at a special exhibition during our concert- and workshop weekend at \u201eHolzbl\u00e4ser\u201c Berlin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Preview 2013:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Next fall QNG will celebrate its\u00a015 years anniversary<\/strong>! There will be a big\u00a0jubilee concert<\/strong> at the BKA Berlin!<\/p>\n
